• The Panama Canal is too important to let it fall into the wrong hands. The U.S. built it, and now China is gaining control over key ports and influencing operations. If they’re breaking the agreement, taking it back isn’t just an option, it’s common sense for trade and security.
• Remember – in politics, “turning the other cheek” has far more repercussions than doing so individually. President Trump has the entirety of the United States to protect against China’s interests.
• According to the Neutrality Treaty of 1977, the U.S. retained the right to intervene to ensure the Panama Canal remains open and neutral if its operation or neutrality is threatened.
• Retaking the Panama Canal is bold but necessary. Its strategic value is immense, and ensuring it doesn’t fall into hands that could compromise U.S. interests is crucial. We need to assert our influence where our security and economy are at stake. We should never have given it up.
• Panama did not build the Panama Canal. America did. Panama did not pay for the Panama Canal. America did. Panama did not give thousands of lives building the Panama Canal. America did. It is perfectly fair for the U.S. to be raising questions about the Panama Canal.
