President Trump just pardoned Ross Ulbricht. Good. Ulbricht has served almost 10 years of a life sentence for creating the Silk Road website, where people bought and sold things the government didn’t like.

  • For the record, the US Federal Government is the largest criminal organization that has ever existed. Ross was put in jail because he was becoming a viable competitor…!!  Tweet
  • Hey there! So, you’ve probably heard about Ross Ulbricht, the guy behind Silk Road, right? Well, President Trump just pardoned him, and it’s got everyone talking about how we deal with cybercrimes and the whole drug war situation. First off, Ross’s life sentence always felt a bit over the top for what he did, don’t you think? I mean, creating a website where people could buy stuff the government didn’t like is one thing, but life in prison? That’s harsh, and it’s got us thinking about whether our justice system is fair, especially for internet stuff. Now, there was this talk that he might have ordered a hit, but let’s be real, there was no solid proof, just some lawyers making noise. We’ve got to stick to facts in our justice system, right? Here’s what I think we should do, keeping in line with what our Constitution stands for: Let’s push for laws that match the crime better. Life sentences for non-violent internet crimes? That doesn’t sit right with me, and it’s not exactly in the spirit of “no cruel and unusual punishment.” Also, about the drug war – how about we just call it quits? Make it so the government can’t tell adults what they can do with their own bodies. That’s freedom, that’s privacy, and that’s what our country’s supposed to be about. Legalizing and regulating could take the wind out of the black market’s sails. And let’s not forget about the power of pardons. It should be about fixing wrongs, not just politics. Let’s keep the conversation going so it’s used the right way. What do you think? Should we be pushing for these changes?  – Brother Braveheart
