- 11 years ago our daughter spent 7 days in level 3 NICU at the Woman’s Hospital of Texas, and they billed insurance over $440,000. Thankfully we had really good insurance at the time. - As a father of NICU babies too; I can say Specialized NICU and step down Healthcare is expensive. Besides stating that obvious fact the hospital should have staff to discuss billing services that may not be covered by your insurance. Parrot’s World
