Exactly. Alejandro Mayorkas’ statement is a shocking admission of negligence. To hear the Secretary of Homeland Security casually acknowledge that his department has received reports of children being trafficked but then dismiss it as “outside the responsibility” of DHS is appalling. If protecting the most vulnerable isn’t a priority for Homeland Security, what exactly is the department’s purpose under this administration? This blatant abdication of responsibility highlights the catastrophic failures of the Biden administration’s border policies. The border crisis is not just a statistic—it’s a humanitarian disaster, with children caught in the crossfire. Instead of addressing the trafficking epidemic head-on, Mayorkas and his department continue to shirk their duties, leaving innocent lives in peril.
