Much of the US media ‘discredited themselves’ through coverage of Rittenhouse case

Sky News host Rita Panahi says much of the media in the United States worked overtime to “discredit themselves” with their coverage of the Kyle Rittenhouse case. It comes after the US teenager who shot and killed two men during racial justice protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin, was found not guilty on all charges. “The misinformation about what happened before and during the trial cannot be put down to mere incompetence,” Ms Panahi said. “There was a deliberate campaign to push a particular narrative. “So when the jury hearing his case found that he had acted in self-defence and acquitted Rittenhouse on all charges there was mass shock and sadness among the ignorant left.” Ms Panahi discussed the issue with independent journalist Siraj Hashmi. “If the media actually did its job people would actually know what the facts were of the case,” Mr Hashmi said. “But because they didn’t you have people protesting the verdict and you have the president of the United States basically saying how upset he is about the verdict. “If they had watched even a second of the trial, they would know how wrong they were.”
