- So does this empty reservoir connect to the hydrants that ran dry? The head of the LA Dept. of Water and Power told reporters and the public that there were tanks in Pacific Palisades that the hydrants draw from. How is this reservoir connected/not connected to these tanks? All those tanks, we were told, were filled. I’m sure if there was a full reservoir, there could have been trips made with large trucks back and forth from it. LA Fire Chief Kristen Crowley was talking about getting water from residential pools and ponds….so, obviously, they could have drawn from this reservoir instead of resorting to backyard pools and ponds. Geesh — the reality of the state, city, and county officials’ ABSOLUTE INCOMPETENCE AND MISMANAGEMENT just keeps getting worse.
